Steve Thompson takes us through how empathy, and progress vs. perfection has lasting results on fitness.
I always knew this cat was deep and thoughtful, and this conversation absolutely reinforced that. Starting with Steve's Facebook post on changing how he felt rather than how he looked - we dive into being empathetic with himself, and how he takes care of his clients, to better people outside the gym. Steve takes me through how to build a personal castle, not demonizing anything - especially food and drink - changing habits with baby steps, removing opportunities, and the myth of motivation. I am here to be real, honest and open. Fact number one is that I am human, I have many flaws and contrary to the belief of many... I do not walk around 24/7/365 looking like image #two. The fact of the matter is that I'd rather have beer's than pizza, chips and salsa will be my last meal and I often live on the edge of dangerous extremes. This picture is time stamped Monday, February 20. 2017 and I vividly remember this time, I was as very unhappy as my gross and bloated body and face indicate, and at this time I decided to take back control of my future.
. I am human, I know what it feels like to be on both sides of life's pendulum, and that's why after 20 years of living in, and coaching 1000's of unique human's through the highs and lows of life's successes and failures, alongside the thriving relationships and with a open heart during the breakups/divorces that are filled with malice, through the chapters of exuberance and through the periods of tragedy. . And because I am human, and because I have feelings, and because I have been at both the top and very bottom... I can relate to and coach those people who are willing to listen to the logic, and accept that consistency is the key to an higher overall quality of life, the individuals who understand that the ebb and flow is normal, and the ones that can accept that baby steps are positive and progressive will thrive in the long run with me. . Perfection is a myth but with my coaching philosophy, you build on what I call your personal castle (mental health, physical well being, spiritual flow & financial/future prosperity) -- day by day, brick by brick, with positive momentum, which simply means over time you bank more good days than bad. It means enjoying all the special foods that the holidays present, it means enjoying in and indulging in every special occasion, and it means ignoring societies stupid expectations and the fake/fabricated Hollywood images that are shoved down your throat.
